You can refill this. The original liquid didn't work...I caught more with dish soap, sugar, cider vinegar and water.

Q: what are the ingredients?

After the ingredients are all used, I just fill mine with apple cider vinegar.Works just as well. You just keep filling the little red container with the vinegar.

Q: Will this catch house flies?

No, the holes are too small. It works for fruit flies.
