works also as sunscreen
I play a lot of outdoor sports, hike at higher altitudes, etc., and use this zinc oxide ointment as a high SPF sun screen on my face, ears, neck. Protects much better than all those sunlotions (even the high SPF ones), that often smell, or sometimes give me an allergic reaction. Ok, so after I put this on my skin I look pretty pale and my lips look like I'm wearing white lipstick, but who cares: I don't get a sun burn, my skin doesn't itch, and I can breath without inhaling any of the typical sunscreen lotion fragrances or other chemicals.This 3 tube package is much cheaper than what it would cost at some other "pharmacy" sites. The old Dynarex ointment (which I bought several years ago), contained 20% Zinc Oxide as an active ingredient. This one now has 25% Zinc Oxide - haven't noticed any difference and I figure it can't hurt.
