Large jar great for large batches
We love this, great for fermenting large batches of kombucha. We use it regularly. Takes 3 litres, it's quite large and weighty but we don't mind

Kilner delivers another quality product.
The media could not be loaded. Received my fermentation set from Kilner, I was happy how the jar was packaged within its box and it was delivered intact. The size is perfect for my needs ( although other sizes are available). The product looks great and all the pieces are of good quality. I have used it several times to make several batches of kimchi and both its functionality and ease of cleaning after are superb. I also thought the instructions were super helpful.Really recommend !!!!!Next I’m going to try the recipes in the booklet attached, can’t wait.

More useful than cabbage looking.
Works perfectly and is easy to use. Easily fitted a whole shredded white cabbage and would probably have taken two but who needs that much sauerkraut?

Nice jars, pity they don't come with screw lids.
All successful ferments from these jars. Originally used 4 jars full of cabbage, onion, leeks, chilli, garlic, ginger and various herbs, then after adding brine and letting them ferment for a week they reduced so I was able to pack 2 jars with the contents from the 4 jars.Very happy with the results, my only critique is I am now storing them in the fridge and would have liked to have had some screw on lids as the fermentation process has now finished and keeping the tops sealed requires me to use the air bubbles which make them very tall and therefore they reduce fridge space.

Effective
Arrived promptly. Heavy as expected. Worked well for the fermentation task we had - a fermented chilli sauce. The ceramic weights kept most but not all fruits submerged - some escaped and floated to the surface. Saves having to remember to "burp" the bottle and let the gas escape.

Waste of money bad design lid and airlock rubbish
The media could not be loaded. The jar is not designed well at all, the rubber lid gets pushed up by air preasure, i threw away the cheap air lock as it contaminated my batch, i was furious, i brought one which you use for wine in the picture, older and superior design, and it does not fit as the hole in the rubber lid is about 10 mil wide !! I threw away the first airlock as it was unfit for purpose, i could go on about the jar and rubber lid too but, i am more concerned that decent airlocks that work do not fit, kilner must be british or european, because no way would anything american be designed so badly, on second photo that bit that goes down into would be better on the outdide poining up not down. I am so angry i brought this big fancey jar thing and a mason jar would be better as they too let air out but not air in like this rubber lid does. If the hole was smaller it would push this rubber lid up even more. If it wasn't cheaply made yeah it would be value for money, easy to clean after it ruins your batch
