Intelligent selection of NYT travel articles focussing ostensibly on beaches and coastlines. But what sustains the discerning armchair traveller’s interest is that it’s so much more than just palm fringes and turquoise seas....though there are a few winter warming examples of these. Just as captivating is the much lesser known Italian lake, or Wales’s coastal trail, or Lake Superior in Michigan; to name but three of the equally unglamorous but thoroughly enticing destinations featured - all beautifully photographed and written about. A real opportunity to be inspired...and to be grateful that such places are as yet unsullied by mass tourism.
