Lamy AL-star Vibrant Pink Fountain Pen | Special 2018 Edition (Medium)

I got this to get into journaling and note taking. I use a remarkable 2 tablet and this brands stylus for tablets. This ink-filled version is delightful to use everyday.

This was the first time buying a Lamy AL at a discounted price through Amazon (when compared to other authorized pen dealers). It's pretty clear I was sent a used pen... 1) It came in the usual Lamy box, but the pen fell out of the box without the usual carbon insert Lamy's are usually clipped to. 2) The ink cartridge was already loaded - meaning no cardboard separator preventing cartridge from engaging in pen.That said, pen looks fine, no damage and writes smoothly literally out of the box. I guess that's what you get for a discounted pen. Just wished I knew who the seller was 'cause it's somewhat false advertising to send a used pen when it's not stated in the description.

i purchased two more of these pens in different colors - one for myself and one was a gift. this specific pen cane with an empty or broken ink cartridge. so i have not been able to use it. however, the other two pens are amazing! they write beautifully and very smoothly. highly recommend these pens! bht make sure they are the AL-star aka aluminum, not the safari aka plastic.

Bought it for my wife to use at her office. She likes the Safari Al-Star Fountain Pens quite a lot as they’re dependable writers and easy to maintain.

I was a bit nervous about ordering my first Lamy through Amazon via a third party seller. But a gift card made it a possibility and I took the chance. Although it took two weeks to arrive, I realized that it came from the UK, so was ok with the extra time. But, the beautiful pen arrived with an extra nib! I had ordered a Lamy Al-Star in Vibrant Pink with EF nib, but this one came with the EF nib in a little bag, and the pen had a M nib! The pen writes well and the vibrant pink ink (which Amazon sent through a different vendor) is the prettiest of all the pink inks I own. Although the Lamy box was a little crushed, the pen was housed in a silver Lamy box inside a Lamy black box with cut out slats.UPDATE: one year, and multiple fountain pens later, I’m not convinced that this was an actual Lamy. It was my first purchase of a pen that cost over $30, and I never felt comfortable writing with it—thought it was the ink, and switched several times, but could not get a smooth, even flow ever. Although the nib said LAMY, the engraving was not quite as deep as the one on my Safari, which wrote smoothly from the get go. When I compared the nibs, this one was not as fine as the one on the Safari, even though they were both EF nibs. I guess for my own peace of mind, will stick to the major retailers.

So, it’s been 55 years since I used a fountain pen (in my day, this pen would be called a cartridge pen. If one used an inkwell, it was considered a fountain pen). Right away, this pen writes beautifully. I’m a lady with small hands and this pen is really comfortable and pretty, to boot. I’m now motivated to improve my handwriting.

Very good pen to write or sketch with. Very smooth. No stoppage or ink block at all. I was attracted to this hot pink color. Very cute color. The only thing is the body of the pen is really too wide for me. One ridge would just rest on my middle finger. It’s not that comfortable for me to grab it for long. I use it for only sketch my city sceanary drawings. It doesn’t take long, so I can deal with it.

OMG! I LOVE this pen!!! I have never had a pen that writes so smoothly and perfect without clogging. It is wonderful! Just a joy to use. Super comfortable to hold. I First saw this pen and was able to try it at the SURTEX show 2018. I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it! I am not disappointed!Best fountain pen ever!

Lovely lamy

I'm in love with Lamy! I adore the safari but this pen, has the most amazing feeling and weight I ever used. I love how large the body is and the smooth writing.
