Works perfectly for indoor cooking

I had an electric grill in my apartment of about 10 yrs. ago that I loved. Bought a house and gave it to a friend who had just moved into her apartment. I will be honest, I wanted it back but lost touch with her. Not hard to put this together, took my time, maybe 30 minutes. This thing does get hot (good thing). I have cooked 3 steaks (one at a time) and 4 chicken thighs (2 at a time) in the 2 weeks I have had it. I set it on medium which works fine for me. It cooks quicker than I expected. I set the grill on high to get the meat rack hot, then cut back to medium and throw the meat on. It gives what your cooking nice grill marks. Big enough to easily hold 2 big steaks and at least 6 thighs. The main reason I went with electric was ease of use (plug and play) and as the meat cooks, the drippings hit the heating element which puts grill flavor back into the meat as it steams (no flare up). When you want to cook for yourself, or 2/3, this will get the job done and you don't have to go out in the heat and fire up your charcoal or gas grill in this summer heat. I will add an important note, from experience from last one owned. I place mine on my stovetop on a big cutting board as I use it. I turn the hood vent on and any smoke/steam that may make it out from under the lid (vents always closed, you want all that smoke/steam in your meat) gets sucked up by the vent hood. Sorry for the long review but I felt it was necessary as I always read them when I by something online. Plan on getting a lot of use with this one.

Good

The media could not be loaded. This thing was rather large I didn't expect it to be so big a lot of the parts did not go with this product I had to kind of guess because they had it labeled wrong so I had to kind of guess my way through attachment or putting it together but it heats up well it Cooks fast I guess depends on how high you have the heat the ease of assembly was weird because it was mislabeled like it has letters but the book has numbers and none of the screws would accept this one pack the only one packages left over with a lot of different screws and things but I got it hooked up

As good as gas

I won't broil a steak. Frying or broiling in an oven just not worth it. I would compare the taste to microwaving or boiling a cut of meat. Yuck. So I was worried about having to give up my grill for my apartment complex rules. The reviews on here scared me. I really wondered if I had just made a huge mistake moving.Im writting this review to tell others. Its fine. I bought this ELECTRIC grill and tried it for the FIRST time around Christmas. It was Near Tahoe, CA. Snowing and 20 degrees outside. I actually had trouble TURNING IT DOWN. Yes thats right. I was trying to slow roast a 10 pound hunk of meat for pulled pork BBq and had a temp. Of over 450 F° on porch in blowing snow on medium low setting. I had to set to the lowest setting for 275° F.I always use ceramic tiles and bricketts even in my gas grill. So I kept them when giving away my old (brand new gas grill) to move where I am now. So buy the electric grill, use ceramic tiles you'll be fine. Actually you'll be doing so well everyone will think you're cheating and have charcoal in your electric grill. Let them hate. You are a grillmaster and its not your problem they cant cook as well as you. Btw. I Read the the instructions to my electric stove ....the reason oven doors can be opened 4 inches and stay is because the oven door is meant to be left open that much when broiling / using the oven broiler. Wow who knew? I may try the broiler again someday. If my Electric BBQ ever goes out. Until then Im happy to say this grill works just as well as my gas one did. My last grill was HUGE. I normally only cooked for 2. But did cook everything on it year round. Buy this one! Or spend over $250. They are all made of metal and have a plug. 1500 watts or 1800 they will both come with an electric skillet plug in power thermastat deal for the element to heat up. The difference is the 20 to 40 bucks in ceramic tiles. That convert your electric skillet into a Bar-B-Q, retain heat and turn drippings into sizzling, smoky char grilled flavor. Peace and good grilling vibes to all.
